# Overview

> Direct API PDF upload flow — submit bank statements programmatically without a hosted UI.

The PDF API upload flow lets you collect a user's financial data by uploading bank statement
PDFs **directly through the API** — no hosted UI, no web redirection. Statements are
processed through OCR, grouped by account, and analytics are computed automatically.

<Info>
  This flow is for server-to-server integrations where you already have the PDF files and
  want to submit them programmatically. If you need a hosted upload UI for end users, see
  [PDF Enabled](../pdf/overview).
</Info>

## Integration Flow

<Steps>
  <Step title="Initiate Upload">
    Call `POST /orchestration/init` to start a new workflow. Receive a `transactionId`
    used for every subsequent call. See [Initiate Upload](./initiate-upload).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit PDF Files">
    Call `POST /orchestration/submit` with all bank statement PDFs encoded as base64.
    Multiple files can be submitted in a single call. The system runs OCR preview
    per file and groups them by detected account number automatically.
    See [Initiate Upload](./initiate-upload).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm Submission">
    Call `POST /orchestration/submit` again with an empty `input_data` array and
    `"action": "CONTINUE"` to kick off processing.
    See [Initiate Upload](./initiate-upload).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Track Status">
    Poll `POST /transaction/status` until the journey reaches a terminal state
    (`SUCCESSFUL` / `UNSUCCESSFUL`). See [Track Status](./track-status).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fetch Data">
    Retrieve the raw FI data or computed analytics (JSON, XML, or Excel) using the same
    `transactionId`. See [Fetch Data](./fetch-data).
  </Step>
</Steps>
